Agenda of lobbying remains same. It doesn't change weeky/monthly or even annually. Country quotas, increase in EB gc numbers, portability issues. It is also on IV website. Please look. No more details other than that will be made available, unless a bill is on the floor, thats when you see the results. Results are hard to come by. Core cannot reveal roadblocks or mini successes as these are all detrimental to the effort.
Are you part of core?
Can i take that core will not even give out information on what efforts it is lobbying currently?
I wonder how i will convince some of my friends to contribute to an effort which is not shared?:confused:

I am guessing that this is a move to allocate more numbers to China-EB2 applicants since both India/China EB2 may move together.They want to get as much diversity as possible.
I agree with nixtor that EB2 India will retrogress soon before oct-08.
eb2 china was at jan2006 for a while. this will be the first time that they will be moving beyond jan 2006.

You need to chill out dude. I do not see anything wrong. Whats wrong in analyzing and preparing yourself for future. I have plans to travel in 3 months.After looking at this thread I think it might take few more months. I think this is a valuable thread.
agree. in addition once your EAD expires you need to stop working immediately (they have stopped issuing interim EADs) if an EAD renewal takes 8 months and you cannot apply upto 6 months before expiry, there is a possibility that you will work only 10 months every year!

reddog, please explain how you have supported IV in the past in non-monetary ways. For lobbying, there is not much you can do other than support monetarily,or make trips to DC yourself.
I am sure IV core will at least consider such non-monetary support on case-by-case basis.

Ok here I go again in this Chicken and Egg situation......
Now that someone filed a lawsuit to invalidate the July VB, which BTW is still CURRENT.......it could invalidate the CURRENT sttatus....of all Eb categories....precisely what DOS USCIS wants....
My head is spinning.......Beer anyone?

I got quite a few positive responses. On other side I got few negative messages, few pessimitics and few red dots on posts after I started this exercise. Sometimes it still bothers me but I guess I need to get out of this critics and appreciations and want to concentrate 100% on agenda: Fight against injustice in AC21 implementation.

I have a suggestion! I don't think forcing monthly $25 contribution to keep donor status alive is a very good idea, especially in current economy. Take an example of myself. It is decided that I am going to loose job on 17th March, may not be able to contribute every month. Rethink!

But I support this initiative. Just see the FOIA thread. We could not even pool up 5K and there are at least 5000 members out of which at least 500 active users.
Unless there is some intiative like this, it will be impossible for pushing any lobbying activities. There are many people who wants every thing free.
