I think it is time we threw away the concept that democracy is the best.
Look at Obama the socialist and anti-immigrant law makers in this country who are playing to the gallery. Are they doing any good for this country ?
I always prefer an open self nominated leader to a democratically elected leader.
OP should work with IV core/even get involved in a serious conversation with core team to promote his ideas. I am sure core is open to suggestions and entertain discussions from well meaning members.

Me too. Actually , when the movement is not systematic and the gates are wide open, then they randomly pick up the cases and approve whatever file comes to them. The ones with older PDs suffer a lot while the ones with new ones get their GCs.

His speech was contradicting at some instances. However, what I could conclude was that Indian and Chinese workers can be trained well and are more flexible than American workers. If you listen the speech again with this trainability factor (which he did not consider in his study), his contradicting assertations makes sense.

Why don't you listen to others on this forum? No one is out to screw H-1s and/or GC aspirants as far as the rebate is concerned. Read the previous post by gg10004. The law is not differentiating between a H1 and GC aspirant or a US citizen if none of them have a valid SSN. It is just unfortunate that H4s do not get SSNs. So stop getting paranoid.
Moreover, your response that your title "No Stimulus Package to H1's and GC Aspirants - Again We Loose 1200$" is justified because titles are not for stories or whatever makes you look like an utter idiot. Titles are for accurately reflecting the gist of the thread. mbawa.. It is always nice to sit on the side and blame it all on the leaders here. First thing you have to remember is that these poor/great folks (poor for representing people like you and great for working for representing all immigrant hopefuls) are really working for YOU and me. It is quite convenient to blame others than doing things yourself. If you think you are any better, why not come up with your USEFUL/GREAT ideas and see if the IV core respects those ideas or not. Lobbying or not, when the government is ready to think about CIR or immigration in general, I am pretty sure that IV can make OUR voice heard. Got the point?
Problem is not the members but the overall stratergy. I understand ur emotions but certainly we need change and action. Without aggressive stratergy that can punch the noses of people against our agenda, we will not be successful. As I said - this is not personal at all. I know some of core people very well and they are competent and bright boys. This has to do with overall stratergy and we need to be bit more agressive .Without a new team which will bring in a coordinated effort & energy into this , we will not make it. CIR may get passed and other immigration categories may benefit at our cost if we don't change our course . Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I am seeing a lot of folks predicting the EB2 dates. And I believe they are right in doing so since that is their filign category. What I am asking is if there are any prediction regarding EB3-I. The dates are not moving at all which is absolutely frustating.
I don't think anybody can predict EB-3 India as it is a lost cause (sorry for being pessimistic). The only way EB-3 India will see any meaningful progress is through legislation.

I am about to switch jobs using EAD. I am worried that if my current employer revokes my 140, CIS may by mistake cancel my pending AOS. I am mentally prepared for this and talk to lawyer to be ready to file MTR in this case. However here is my question.
1. Will this immediately cancel my EAD? if so, I may have to resign.
2. If I continue working while filling for MTR, will it be illegal?
3. How much it costs to go thru' MTR process? How long it takes?
I read on some other website that denying 485 doesn't automatically cancel your EAD. Any inputs?

Good one ..itsnotfunny....but I will tell you that each one of us does wait with baited breath for the VB .
I am all for the FOIA drive and have promised some money as well. But lets just hope and pray that the VB brings some good news for some of us :)
